Picking Packing Labelling Trucks

    How the model works

    • Demand Orders arrive following an hourly curve. On Black Friday there is a spike at midnight and a stronger one in the evening.
    • Picking One order at a time: about 2.5 minutes plus 0.4 per unit. In batches: one 4-minute walk shared by the whole batch, plus 0.35 per unit and 0.25 per order.
    • Packing and labelling Each order goes through a packing station (1.2 minutes plus 0.15 per unit) and then the label printer (15 seconds). Everything varies randomly by ±20%.
    • Shift and trucks The shift runs from 6:00 to 22:00. Trucks leave at 13:00, 19:00 and 21:30 with whatever has been labelled.
    • Promise Anything ordered before 18:00 is promised for today. On-time rate counts how many of those promises leave on a truck today.
